Director, Corporate Banking (Trading Credit)

What you will do

• Lead the underwriting, structuring, and approval of trading credit transactions across derivatives, securities financing, margin facilities, and trade finance.
• Manage relationships with banks and non-bank financial institutions across the Americas, including broker-dealers, custodians, pension funds, asset managers, insurers, and government entities.
• Conduct counterparty due diligence, analyze financial and market information, and provide well-supported credit recommendations.
• Monitor portfolio risk, credit quality, and global exposure while identifying and mitigating risks associated with trading products.
• Partner with Global Markets, Legal, Risk, clients, and other stakeholders to support Capital Markets solutions and strategic initiatives.
• Coach Associates and Analysts and contribute to process improvements and team performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in trading credit, corporate banking, capital markets, or financial institutions coverage.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk, derivatives, trading products, and corporate credit analysis.
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex credit applications and interpreting financial statements and accounting principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building, judgment, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Legal eligibility to work at the specified Canadian location is required; a valid work or study permit may be required where applicable.

Nice to have

• MBA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation.
• Experience with credit, portfolio monitoring, and Capital Markets reporting tools.
