Group Product Manager (API Platform & AI)

Location: Remote, with flexibility to work from the Austin, TX office as desired or needed; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 base salary annually, plus potential annual performance bonus, benefits, and other incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Define and execute the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and operating plan for the Fortellis Platform and Marketplace.
• Lead and develop Product Managers responsible for APIs, the API Gateway, developer experience, and App Marketplace capabilities.
• Own the enterprise API strategy, including design standards, lifecycle management, governance, launch readiness, publishing, adoption, monetization, support, and retirement.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Marketing, Security, Data, AI, UX, and commercial teams to scale APIs and marketplace products.
• Improve discovery, onboarding, subscription, provisioning, billing, support, and usage experiences for dealers, OEMs, ISVs, developers, and internal teams.
• Use customer research, product analytics, API usage data, AI-agent insights, financial metrics, and OKRs to prioritize work and measure outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 8+ years of Product Management experience in enterprise SaaS, platform, API, developer, integration, marketplace, or similar ecosystems.
• Experience managing, coaching, or mentoring Product Managers.
• Strong experience building, launching, governing, and scaling APIs, including API gateways, developer portals, documentation, standards, monetization, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with self-service marketplaces, app marketplaces, partner platforms, developer ecosystems, usage-based pricing, subscriptions, or marketplace business models.
• Technical depth in AI Agents, agentic product experiences, MCPs, workflow automation, or AI-powered platforms, with strong customer discovery and cross-functional communication skills.
