Senior Staff Engineer - Java (Java)

Annual salary: $130,000–$260,000

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering domains and influence enterprise engineering direction.
• Lead the strategy and execution of technical roadmaps that improve product delivery velocity and engineering capabilities.
• Design, build, improve, and scale systems using Java, Python, object-oriented technologies, microservices, REST APIs, SQL, NoSQL, containers, and Azure services.
• Collaborate with product managers, customers, and engineering teams to solve complex technical problems.
• Ensure solution quality, usability, performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
• Mentor engineers, share best practices, support continuous learning, and influence technical decisions with executives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience with Java and Spring.
• 8+ years of architecture and design experience, including reliability, design patterns, and scaling.
• Experience with continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, DevOps, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps.
• Fluency in at least two modern programming languages, such as Java, C++, Python, or C#, with object-oriented design expertise.
• Experience with microservices, extensible REST APIs, cloud platforms, monitoring, security protocols, Azure networking, and operational tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or experience.

• Track record of publications in credible conferences or journals.
• Experience transferring research into production and working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
