Architect Engineer IV (Systems)

Location: United States; remote eligible. The role is based in Anchorage, Alaska, with occasional travel to remote sites throughout Alaska and to the lower 48 states.

Salary: $102,655–$170,407 per year.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and governance for network, product, and enterprise systems architecture initiatives.
• Develop and maintain architecture, design, lifecycle, and industry standards.
• Lead design approvals, technical reviews, vendor evaluations, risk analysis, testing, and validation activities.
• Develop 1–2-year capital plans and contribute to five-year technology roadmaps.
• Coordinate with strategy, product, program, capacity, engineering, operations, and vendor stakeholders.
• Manage complex projects and approve technical documentation, engineering designs, and service requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience in information technology, development, and moderate-to-complex technical projects within telecom or related environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; relevant experience and education may substitute year for year.
• Advanced expertise in enterprise systems architecture, including servers, virtualization, storage, operating systems, and data center infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols and standards including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, LDAP, TLS, SSH, HTTPS, REST API, and SNMPv3.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, Windows Server, VMware, network management systems, data center hardware, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Ability to work in the United States and travel occasionally to Alaska and other U.S. locations; flexible schedules and emergency after-hours availability may be required.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Relevant telecom certifications.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator, VMware Certified Professional, VMware Advanced Professional, or CompTIA Linux+ certification.
