Embedded Software DevSecOps Engineer (Co-op Student)

Location: Ottawa, Canada; onsite

Salary: CAD 24–35 per hour

What you will do

• Develop automated solutions for next-generation optical transport products.
• Solve complex technical problems in a research and development environment.
• Collaborate closely with Firmware R&D teams.
• Improve the quality and robustness of firmware and hardware tests.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
• Currently in the third or fourth year of a Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree program.
• Strong object-oriented software design and implementation skills in any programming language.
• Strong problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Experience with instrumentation and automation, optical systems, optical instruments, or optical fibers.
• Eligible to complete a background check.

Nice to have

• Experience with Git, GitHub, Bash, PowerShell, ChatGPT, Copilot, C#, Python, JavaScript, XML, gRPC, or Jira.
