Employee Relations Advisor (HR): Managing formal employee relations casework across disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, absence management, whistleblowing and capability procedures with an accent on fair processes, employment law and stakeholder communication. Focus on supporting investigations and hearings, supervising casework administration, delivering ER training, and improving reporting and service delivery in a large unionised university.
Location: Oxford Road, Manchester, United Kingdom. Applicants must demonstrate the right to work in the UK; this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

What you will do
- Manage and support a portfolio of formal employee relations cases covering disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, absence management, whistleblowing and capability procedures.
- Support less complex investigations and act as an Employee Relations Advisor to hearing panels.
- Supervise administrators handling formal casework and maintain service standards and targets.
- Deputise for Employee Relations Partners and serve as an initial point of contact for relevant queries.
- Support the design, organisation and delivery of employee relations training for professional services and academic colleagues.
- Assist with casework tracking, reporting and monthly management information.
Requirements
- Degree-level education and/or Chartered Membership of the CIPD.
- Good knowledge of disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, absence management, whistleblowing and capability procedures.
- Experience and knowledge of HR and employee relations in a large, complex and unionised organisation.
- Strong communication, conflict management, negotiation, analytical and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality, fairness and attention to detail.
- Right to work in the UK; Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is not available.
