Committee Member - Senior Human Resources Advisor (Voluntary position)

hirify.global is an independent domestic abuse charity providing safehouse services and confidential practical and emotional support to women and children in Jersey.

What you will do

• Advise the Committee and CEO on HR governance and specific internal HR situations.
• Support the development and maintenance of up-to-date HR policies.
• Help ensure adherence to Jersey employment law and related legal requirements.
• Support governance oversight, strategic planning, organisational goals, and annual reporting from an HR perspective.
• Work with Committee members to align hirify.global’s activities with its mission and values.
• Attend approximately six Committee meetings per year, participate in public events, and support fundraising.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in a senior HR management role.
• Experience applying Jersey employment law.
• Experience in governance, management, and strategic oversight.
• In-depth knowledge of Jersey employment law and related instruments.
• Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, governance, and financial management.
• Ability to analyse, solve problems, lead others, and exercise independent judgement.

Nice to have

• Previous HR leadership experience.
• Previous trustee or committee experience.
• Knowledge of the Jersey Care Commission or Social Services policies.
• Networking skills.
• Understanding of the causes and effects of violence and abuse against women and girls.
