Software License Analyst (Procurement, Analyst)

Location: On-site in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Travel: 0–10%.

Salary: $84,000–$94,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage the enterprise software portfolio, including inventories, assignments, utilization, renewals, costs, and contractual entitlements.
• Administer vendor licensing portals and handle license assignments, removals, transfers, and access issues.
• Analyze software usage, licensing, and cost data to identify savings, consolidation, rationalization, and license reduction opportunities.
• Evaluate new software requests against existing capabilities and support standardization and application consolidation.
• Coordinate with vendors, procurement personnel, technical teams, and business stakeholders on renewals, licensing models, product changes, and issue resolution.
• Develop portfolio reports, dashboards, metrics, processes, and documentation supporting compliance and renewal planning.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, software licensing, enterprise application management, or a related field.
• Experience managing enterprise software licenses throughout the license lifecycle and administering licensing or vendor portals.
• Strong understanding of licensing models, entitlements, subscriptions, renewals, utilization, and software access troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including software inventories, reports, or dashboards.
• BA/BS degree required.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance and work on-site in Charleston, SC.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAM or ITAM programs and tools.
• Experience managing enterprise SaaS, cloud, developer, collaboration, or productivity software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft, Atlassian/Jira, Adobe, ServiceNow, AWS, Azure, or similar technologies.
• Experience with software or application portfolio rationalization, procurement, and renewals in a federal environment.
• SAM, ITAM, ITIL, or FinOps certification.
