Senior Python Data Engineer (SQL Server)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Uptown); 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week

Salary: $75.00–$85.00 per hour on W2

What you will do

• Analyze and interpret data modernization strategies across impacted disciplines.
• Develop and implement data solutions for an investment banking technology platform.
• Formalize business requirements and translate them into detailed technical requirements.
• Build internal products that strengthen the existing platform and support integration with other applications.
• Participate in Agile workstreams and use Jira to support delivery.

Requirements

• SQL Server expertise is the primary requirement.
• Strong Python programming experience with data engineering or full-stack development experience.
• Experience with Pandas or comparable Python data tools and with building distributed applications.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2.
• Familiarity with microservice architectures, DevOps tools, REST APIs, and Agile development.
• Availability for a hybrid schedule in Charlotte, with three onsite days per week, and W2 employment.

Nice to have

• Experience in a Test-Driven Development environment.
• Capital markets experience, especially Market Risk or Counterparty Credit Risk.
• Knowledge of derivative products, risk management, and financial product data modeling.
• Experience with GenAI or agentic AI.
