Director, Facility Operations & Construction

Location: Rochester, NY; on-site facility operations with Monday–Friday day hours, 40 hours per week, and on-call support during emergent site needs.

Salary: $155,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage daily facility operations, resources, priorities, performance metrics, and departmental communications.
• Lead and develop facilities and Environmental Health & Safety staff through hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Support global space planning, construction, renovation, security, backup power, building systems, grounds, and infrastructure projects.
• Design and manage facility project plans while coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and site leaders.
• Maintain inspection, audit, documentation, maintenance, calibration, site drawing, lease, and work-order processes.
• Manage global facilities CAPEX budgets and support operational efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate degree with 5+ years of facility operations experience, or 10+ years of facility operations experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience.
• Required BA education and a valid New York State driver’s license.
• Experience with regulated operations; clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical building infrastructure, maintenance systems, and work-order processes.
• Ability to work on-site in Rochester and provide on-call support for emergent facility needs.

Nice to have

• Project management experience with construction and renovation projects.
• Experience with CMMS and work-order systems.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
