Engineering Manager, Connectivity Hardware (Automotive)

What you will do

• Lead a small team of hardware Design Release Engineers developing and releasing connectivity telematics modules.
• Develop connectivity component specifications covering performance, RF, power, security, regulatory requirements, and vehicle interfaces.
• Own sourcing, engineering change requests, bill of material management, cost alignment, and Tier-N supply resiliency activities.
• Lead vehicle packaging and ECU integration while managing mechanical, thermal, EMC, and connectivity performance constraints.
• Coordinate suppliers, contract manufacturers, prototype, DV, PV, and launch hardware builds through production approval.
• Drive hardware issue resolution, DFMEA mitigation, bring-up, in-vehicle testing, and cross-functional development status reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hardware development experience in automotive, consumer electronics, or a related industry.
• Experience with GM processes for sourcing, part release, and engineering change requests.
• Demonstrated ownership of hardware from concept through launch, including supplier engagement and cross-functional alignment.
• Strong communication skills and experience presenting technical content and trade-offs to leadership.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of technical leadership or people management experience, formally or in a matrix environment.
