Solutions Architect - Digital Systems (Python/GCP)

Location: Somerville, MA, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Define and drive technology strategy across Salesforce, NetSuite, Shopify, custom applications, and data layers.
• Design scalable, secure solutions for major initiatives including eCommerce migration and ERP optimization.
• Build proofs of concept and architectural patterns using Python, GCP, and containerized applications.
• Govern enterprise integration decisions, selecting between iPaaS, custom microservices, and point-to-point APIs.
• Establish engineering principles for custom applications and automations.
• Lead adoption of modern integration tools and AI-supported workflows.

Requirements

• Software engineering experience with Python and API design combined with enterprise systems experience.
• Experience designing enterprise integration patterns and middleware strategies.
• Hands-on experience with GCP or AWS/Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Functional and technical familiarity with Salesforce, NetSuite, and Shopify.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data warehousing principles.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with BigQuery, AI tooling, LLMs, RAG, or agents.
• Experience with Gearset or similar Salesforce DevOps tools.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT, Airbyte, security architecture, or vulnerability management.
