Senior Shopify Engineer (Shopify B2B)

What you will do

• Architect, develop, configure, and customize the backend Shopify B2B Commerce platform.
• Build Shopify Apps, Functions, Extensions, APIs, and complex B2B capabilities beyond standard Shopify features.
• Provide backend expertise, data, and API endpoints for headless, fast, and SEO-optimized commerce experiences.
• Design integrations between Shopify, Salesforce, ERP, data warehouse, and other internal and external systems using APIs and middleware.
• Develop digital roadmap initiatives, including marketing automation and AI-driven tools for sales and service.
• Deliver documented, efficient code using version control, QA practices, CI/CD, deployment keys, and modern development methods.

Requirements

• Ability to work from the Budapest, Hungary office or the Somerville, Massachusetts, USA office.
• 5+ years of professional experience building eCommerce or digital platforms for B2B businesses.
• Backend experience with Shopify B2B, Shopify Apps, Shopify Functions and Extensions, and Shopify APIs in a headless context.
• Experience integrating Shopify, Salesforce, ERP, and data warehouse systems; knowledge of Salesforce Apex, Lightning, Flow, validation rules, automations, and APIs.
• Ability to write SQL queries and understand data warehouse concepts and tools such as BigQuery.
• Experience with GitHub, Gearset, Kubernetes, or similar software development and deployment tools, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Shopify Verified Skills and Badges, or Salesforce Developer certifications.
• Experience with iPaaS middleware, AWS Lambda, or GCP Cloud Functions.
• Ability to leverage AI coding tools.
• Familiarity with ERP, CRM, marketing automation, data analytics, and business intelligence systems.
