Director of Finance (Aviation)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; Monday through Friday in the office. Not a remote or hybrid position.

hirify.global is a growing private aviation company operating private jet charter, Jet Club, fractional aviation, MRO, and aircraft sales businesses.

What you will do

• Lead accounting operations and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across multiple aviation business segments.
• Support SEC reporting, technical accounting research, U.S. GAAP application, audit coordination, and auditor-defensible documentation.
• Establish accounting policies, standardized chart-of-accounts structures, reconciliations, and balance-sheet controls.
• Design and maintain internal controls, support SOX readiness, document processes, identify control gaps, and lead remediation.
• Partner with the CFO and FP&A team on budgeting, forecasting, aircraft utilization, unit economics, profitability, liquidity, financing, and capital allocation.
• Lead investor, board, earnings-call, M&A, and strategic transaction support while building and developing the accounting and finance team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license and 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Hands-on experience with SEC reporting, including 10-Q and 10-K filings, and technical accounting in a public-company or audit environment.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, with experience researching and documenting complex accounting positions.
• Experience designing and operating internal controls, with knowledge of SOX requirements and demonstrated people-leadership experience.
• Ability to work onsite in the Raleigh office Monday through Friday.

Nice to have

• Experience in aviation, transportation, capital-intensive, or asset-heavy industries.
• Knowledge of 404(a) and 404(b), ASC 842, ASC 606, and ASC 805.
• Experience supporting an IPO, SPAC transaction, M&A, or significant business transformation.
• ERP and financial reporting or consolidation tools experience.
• MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting.
