Distinguished Engineer (Agentic SDLC)

United States salary range: $250,000–$349,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Define the technical vision for autonomous, agentic SDLC capabilities across planning, coding, review, security, compliance, and operations.
• Lead hands-on experiments and prototypes for autonomous merge request authoring, test creation and triage, security remediation, release readiness, and incident response.
• Design reference architectures with orchestration patterns, safety guardrails, observability, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Create evaluation frameworks and productivity metrics covering correctness, latency, safety, cost, cycle time, MTTR, and merge request throughput.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Data and ML, Security, Compliance, Reliability, and SRE teams to turn validated internal patterns into reliable customer-facing capabilities.
• Mentor Principal and Staff Engineers, document architecture decisions, and represent hirify.global in conferences, standards groups, and open source communities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in a Staff, Principal, or equivalent senior technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise in AI and ML systems, large language models, agentic frameworks, and autonomous workflow design at production scale.
• Experience with scalable, multi-tenant distributed systems, service decomposition, fault tolerance, observability, and operational resilience.
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop controls, safety guardrails, and responsible AI practices for production systems.
• Demonstrated ability to align Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Data and ML teams on complex technical challenges and influence direction across multiple teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, globally distributed organization with strong written and asynchronous communication skills.
