Engineering Manager (Blockchain)

Location: New York office, hybrid

Salary: $220,000–$250,000 annually, plus equity and bonus

What you will do

• Lead modernization of the Compliance Core platform, setting technical direction and making architectural trade-offs.
• Plan incremental migrations with clear milestones, safe rollouts, and continuous service reliability.
• Stay hands-on through code reviews, design documents, prototypes, targeted fixes, and production incident resolution.
• Hire, coach, manage performance, and support the career development of engineers.
• Partner with Product and upstream teams to translate customer needs and industry changes into an executable roadmap.
• Improve reliability, latency, throughput, data correctness, observability, testing, incident response, and on-call practices.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating high-throughput, event-driven distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on engineering judgment and experience making sound architectural decisions.
• Experience managing engineers, including coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Track record of delivering complex technical initiatives across teams and balancing immediate customer needs with longer-term platform investment.
• Collaborative leadership style with a focus on clear decisions, ownership, and engineering judgment.
• Interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies, or eagerness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing or migrating critical production systems while maintaining service continuity.
• Familiarity with JVM services in production.
• Experience operating customer-facing systems with strict latency and availability requirements.
• Background in compliance, payments, fraud, or another regulated domain.
• Blockchain protocol knowledge.
