Team Lead Engineer (Crypto)

Location: Remote across Europe, LATAM, North America, or APAC

What you will do

• Lead engineering for crypto spot and derivatives exchanges licensed in the US and the Bahamas.
• Architect and build a perpetual futures exchange, including a high-performance matching engine, collateral, liquidation, and risk engines.
• Develop public APIs, backend services, web applications, order management, accounting, analytics, and compliance integrations.
• Design settlement, clearing, custody, banking, KYC/AML, and regulatory reporting capabilities.
• Maintain software quality and test coverage, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot incidents and bugs.
• Support timely engineering projects through on-call work when needed.

Requirements

• Experience building CLOB exchanges, HFT or market-making systems, high-performance matching engines, margin or liquidation engines, or other high-throughput, low-latency, regulated financial systems.
• Experience building crypto products and at least 4 years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language; the platform is based on Golang.
• SQL or relational database skills, plus hands-on knowledge of Bash, Linux, and Docker.
• BSc, MSc, or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience architecting and building scalable systems with strong software quality practices.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes experience or CKA/CKAD certification.
• DevOps experience, NoSQL, CI/CD, and major cloud platform experience.
• Knowledge of financial markets, Agile/Scrum, microservices, or clean code principles.
