What you will do
- Own and prioritise multiple concurrent production data-science projects and systems.
- Design, develop, and validate analytical methods, statistical models, behavioural heuristics, and algorithms across UTXO and EVM blockchain data.
- Evaluate graph computation, statistical modelling, and machine-learning techniques on large-scale on-chain datasets.
- Improve code, methodologies, workflows, architecture, quality metrics, and technical debt management.
- Align Research, Global Intelligence, Product, and Engineering stakeholders and move research from prototypes into dependable production systems.
- Mentor team members, support onboarding, contribute to technical hiring, and share knowledge through documentation and presentations.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in statistics, machine learning, computer science, physics, mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
- Expert-level Python and SQL proficiency, including clean, testable, production-quality code.
- Experience applying advanced analytical techniques to large, messy datasets.
- Ability to own and prioritise multiple projects or systems and make sound architectural and methodological decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex methodology and mentoring technical practitioners.
Nice to have
- PhD or equivalent quantitative research training.
- Familiarity with Databricks, dbt, Spark/PySpark, Terraform, or production data pipelines.
- Experience building shared tools or platforms and onboarding others onto them.
- Experience with UTXO, EVM, blockchain data, graph computation, or the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
