Associate Project Engineer - Proposal (Power Systems)

What you will do

• Review customer RFQ documents for technical specifications and scope.
• Evaluate bid/no-bid decisions and develop work statements, preliminary designs, responsibility matrices, risk assessments, cash-flow estimates, and preliminary project schedules.
• Build knowledge of SEL’s complete energy solutions portfolio and use it to develop complete customer solutions.
• Work with contracts teams to finalize terms and conditions.
• Complete assigned work within the agreed scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality and safety.
• Support proposal activities both on-site and from SEL offices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Fundamental understanding of power system proposals.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.

Nice to have

• Coursework in electric power or controls, including power system protection, symmetrical components, programming, or control systems.
• Engineer in Training certificate.
• Experience in electric utilities, industrial plants, communications, computer programming, or construction.
