Building Engineer (HVAC)

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota, United States; onsite role with an on-call rotation and after-hours emergency response.

Salary: $32.60–$45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, and life-safety systems.
• Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and tenant service responses.
• Support seasonal boiler and cooling tower startup and shutdown activities.
• Coordinate vendors and contractors, including repairs, maintenance, snow removal, and vendor escorts.
• Manage parts inventory, maintenance records, reports, and schedules.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and collaborate with engineering, property management, and operations teams during building emergencies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial building maintenance or building engineering experience.
• 1–2 years of HVAC technical school training.
• Class C Boiler License and Refrigeration License required.
• CFC Certification required, or ability to obtain it.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BAS, life-safety, fire protection, and security systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record, Microsoft Office proficiency, and current authorization to work full-time in the United States.
