Java Application Architect

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical designs and production-quality code.
• Build and operate Java and Spring Boot microservices with clean RESTful APIs.
• Develop responsive, component-driven front-end applications using React.
• Deploy cloud-native services and support them throughout their operational lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, and developers in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience building production-grade enterprise applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Java 11 or 17, Spring Boot, RESTful API design, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Production experience with React, SQL, relational databases, CI/CD, Git, and at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, computational complexity, system design, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Must be based in the United States; candidates must already hold U.S. work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event-streaming platforms.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of eventual consistency, CAP trade-offs, idempotency, and saga patterns.
• Experience with automated testing, test-driven development, or behavior-driven development.
