Senior Software Architect (Java/Azure)

Location: Hybrid in Houston, TX or Boston, MA, United States

Salary: $131,380–$210,210 USD base salary per year, plus variable incentive pay.

What you will do

• Define the architectural vision, technology strategy, and roadmap for the B2B Platform, shared services, and enterprise data capabilities.
• Lead the design and review of complex business-critical systems, distributed SaaS platforms, and large-scale modernization initiatives.
• Establish architecture standards, governance processes, and engineering practices across multiple product and platform teams.
• Design enterprise data capabilities for ingestion, processing, storage, governance, access, integration, and reuse across distributed systems.
• Drive cloud-native, Azure-based, API-first, event-driven, scalable, secure, and observable architecture.
• Mentor architects, principal engineers, and technical leaders while advising Product, Engineering, Security, Operations, Data, and Executive leadership.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant architecture leadership experience.
• Experience defining architecture for large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms and distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in Java, cloud-native architectures, microservices, enterprise integration patterns, API management, and event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, high-volume transaction systems, and modern data platforms such as Databricks.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Houston, TX or Boston, MA.
