Senior PHP Backend Engineer (Crypto)

Location: Remote in the European Region; hybrid workplace with optional offices and relocation support.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver backend features.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using PHP and MySQL or similar databases.
• Implement complex features with clean, reusable, and efficient code, supported by unit tests.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and application of software development best practices.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, focusing on availability, performance, and security.
• Share on-call responsibilities and introduce technologies that improve system performance and maintainability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with object-oriented PHP and modern PHP tools.
• Knowledge of SOLID, KISS, DRY, layered architecture, and applied domain-driven design.
• Strong experience with Laravel and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including transactions, query optimization, deadlock analysis, and database performance.
• Production experience with Apache Kafka or a comparable message broker, plus monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana.
• Daily experience with Docker, Docker Compose, or Kubernetes.
• English at B1+ level and Russian are required.

• Experience with Go.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or crypto.
• Experience with high-load systems.
