Co-Op Automation Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Wilson, North Carolina, United States of America; full-time onsite co-op with reliable transportation to and from the site required

What you will do

• Support the maintenance, implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing automation systems.
• Assist with computerized system validation documentation, including test scripts, traceability matrices, and validation reports.
• Participate in Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and automation system integration activities.
• Support data collection, reporting, analysis, change management, and technical documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and IT teams on reliable and compliant production operations.
• Contribute to digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, reliability, efficiency, and automation improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related technical field.
• Preferred academic areas include Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and related disciplines.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, onsite in Wilson, North Carolina, with reliable transportation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Permanently authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Understanding of large-molecule drug manufacturing processes.
• Experience in a cGMP environment.
• Experience with leadership, campus programs, or community service.
