Payments Claim Specialist (Fintech)

Location: In office in Phoenix, Arizona, or Newark, Delaware, United States

Salary: $22.27–$33.43 per hour, plus eligibility for bonus and/or commissions.

What you will do

• Investigate and process payment fraud claims and disputes according to regulatory requirements and bank policies.
• Communicate with clients and colleagues by phone, letter, and email regarding claim decisions, additional information, and follow-ups.
• Process provisional and final credits, chargeback credits, representment debits, and pre-arbitration credits to the appropriate general ledgers.
• Review reports, track claim progress, and complete required follow-up actions.
• Perform quality checks and provide feedback to the claim intake team.
• Support additional fraud department activities, including reporting and identifying missed or near-miss opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of general office, back-office banking, or accounting experience.
• Advanced computer experience in a Windows-based environment, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of bank procedures and regulatory requirements for processing payment transactions and client account adjustments.
• Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, judgment, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a metrics-driven environment.
