Payment Operations Specialist (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage payment lifecycle operations including funding, disbursement, settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, returns, and exception handling.
• Review high volumes of payment-processing tasks and resolve transaction issues accurately and efficiently.
• Support customers with funding failures, payout delays, transaction statuses, reconciliation questions, and disputes through email, chat, and voice.
• Coordinate with banking partners, payment processors, payout providers, card networks, and alternative payment providers.
• Support AML, KYC, transaction traceability, operational audits, fraud monitoring, and chargeback processes.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to improve payment methods, controls, reliability, and user experience.

Requirements

• Exceptional English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to explain complex payment processes clearly and manage high volumes of transactional work.
• Flexibility to work graveyard shifts, rotating schedules, weekends, overtime, and some holidays.
• Familiarity with banking and payment processes such as ACH, wire transfers, card payments, or checks.
• Preferred: 1–3 years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, or regulated financial services, plus accounting or AP/AR exposure.

Nice to have

• Experience with client money, safeguarded funds, escrow, marketplace platforms, or trust-based financial products.
• Experience with multi-currency or cross-border payments and high-value transaction risk profiles.
• Practical understanding of accounting ledgers and multi-party or milestone-based settlements.
