Collector - Bank

Salary: $17.96–$24.30 per hour

What you will do

• Manage assigned delinquent consumer, small business, mortgage, home equity, loan, and deposit accounts.
• Communicate professionally with borrowers to resolve delinquencies and reduce credit losses.
• Pursue recovery of charged-off loans and deposit accounts.
• Evaluate borrower circumstances and recommend repayment solutions or other collection actions.
• Document communications, payment arrangements, account updates, and collection activity accurately.
• Coordinate with internal teams and approved vendors on charge-offs, repossession, recovery, and account resolution.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in banking, collections, lending, call center, or customer service.
• General knowledge of banking and lending processes.
• Professional communication skills with borrowers, internal partners, and external service providers.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accurate documentation skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of collection practices and applicable federal and state collection laws.
• Experience in financial services collections, loan servicing, or deposit account servicing.
• Familiarity with repossession, foreclosure, bankruptcy, charge-off, or recovery processes.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate higher-risk or complex account situations.
