Director of Cyber Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; West Coast preferred. U.S. citizenship required. Periodic travel is required for audits, customer engagements, and leadership meetings.

Salary: $200,000–$245,000 USD annually, plus an annual performance-based bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Own the information security policy set, control framework, risk register, exception process, and security architecture reviews.
• Lead security monitoring, SIEM operations, vulnerability management, penetration testing, red team engagements, and security testing requirements across the SDLC.
• Command declared security incidents, direct containment across technology estates, and drive post-incident remediation through closure.
• Own identity and access governance, including least privilege, privileged access, MFA, conditional access, device trust, and access reviews.
• Lead customer security assurance, third-party risk assessments, vendor security requirements, and security terms in contracts and DPAs.
• Report security and risk posture to the CIO, executive leadership, and Audit Committee, with authority to escalate unresolved material risk.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience owning enterprise security posture, risk management, security operations, and governance, risk, and compliance programs.
• Experience with ISO 27001 ISMS, SOC 2 Type 2, FedRAMP authorization, and CMMC Level 2.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, SSPs, POA&Ms, 3PAO or C3PAO assessments, and continuous monitoring.
• Ability to lead incident response, vulnerability management, access governance, security architecture reviews, and customer audits.
• Ability to direct security operations, security engineering, and compliance functions and engage executive leadership and audit stakeholders.
