Packaging Engineer (Medtech)

What you will do

• Design, qualify, validate, and continuously improve packaging solutions across manufacturing facilities.
• Lead ship, drop, vibration, and cold chain testing activities.
• Standardize packaging designs, engineering drawings, labels, and specifications across product portfolios.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities through material selection, design optimization, process improvement, and standardization.
• Investigate shipping damage, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, procurement, suppliers, and Supplier Quality Engineering on packaging and process improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant packaging experience.
• Experience with packaging development, qualification, validation, and quality inspection.
• Ability to support manufacturing and warehouse activities involving pallets, packaging materials, and finished products.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and position materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and external test laboratories.

Nice to have

• Experience with reusable, recyclable, biodegradable, or other sustainable packaging materials.
• Knowledge of the European Union Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, including EU Regulation 2025/40.
• Experience with supplier assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
