Packaging Mechanic (Pharmaceutical Packaging)

Location: Onsite at the Monmouth Junction, NJ facility, United States. The role works 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, on either the 1st shift from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM or the 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM.

Salary: $73,000–$85,000 annually, depending on education, experience, industry standards, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and continuously improve pharmaceutical packaging equipment.
• Work with fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, and related packaging machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance, packaging line changeovers, and equipment startups.
• Support Packaging Operations and Quality Assurance during packaging-line operation.
• Assist with root cause analysis and investigations into equipment failures.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and in accordance with company procedures, cGMPs, and FDA requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanic I: minimum 3 years of packaging mechanic experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; Mechanic II: minimum 5 years.
• Hands-on experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pharmaceutical packaging equipment.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing procedures, federal regulations, cGMPs, and regulatory and manufacturing SOPs.
• Fluent English, basic PC skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use PPE, stand for extended periods, and work additional hours when required.
