Focus on implementing regulatory changes, executing high-risk controls, resolving audit findings, and advising institutions, operations, and senior management.

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week, Monday–Thursday

Salary: $49,199.33–$86,253.75 per year

What you will do

  • Interpret statutes, regulations, and administrative rules related to Federal Student Aid programs and Veterans Benefits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, reporting materials, and communications.
  • Review marketing, catalog, and website materials for regulatory compliance.
  • Advise campuses, operations, institutions, and senior management on regulatory requirements and organizational initiatives.
  • Execute controls in high-risk areas, correct non-compliance issues, and support the resolution of audit findings.
  • Train colleagues and external partners, deliver presentations, and support the Regulatory Affairs Manager with escalated questions and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in higher education financial aid required.
  • 3+ years of experience in higher education regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and internet applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, critical-thinking, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 10%; writing samples are required.
