Compliance Consultant - Contract to Hire

Location: Phoenix, AZ, CityScape

Salary: $92,450.00–$114,203.33 annually for Westlake Village, CA; compensation varies by job location.

What you will do

• Review and analyze information, reports, and data to assess compliance with internal policies and regulations.
• Support the development, maintenance, and operation of the Compliance Management System.
• Provide subject-matter guidance on compliance interpretation, risk assessments, issue management, policies, procedures, controls, exams, and data management.
• Monitor compliance issues, evaluate mitigation strategies, and validate corrective action plans.
• Assess opportunities to improve compliance control design and effectiveness for first-line business units.
• Prepare final reports and communicate findings to management and risk committees.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, internal audit, or a similar field.
• High school diploma required; a related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Ability to assess federal and state statutes, mortgage program requirements, and regulatory requirements from agencies including FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, FRB, and CFPB.
• Intermediate knowledge of residential retail and correspondent mortgage lending compliance and operations, including issue management, regulatory change management, and document review.
• Intermediate knowledge of regulatory and legal obligations, industry standards, MS Office, relationship building, and written and verbal communication.
