TL;DR
Sr. Actuarial Analyst II (Property & Casualty Insurance): Developing complex pricing and reserving models, performing advanced risk assessments, and analyzing property and casualty insurance data with an accent on rate indications, regulatory filings, and competitive product analysis. Focus on leading actuarial projects, interpreting complex mathematical models, preparing recommendations for management, and supporting state and regulatory reviews.

Location: Remote from the United States; based out of the MI-Admin Office Building (AOB). Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; occasional office attendance may be required for important departmental meetings or team-building events.

Salary: $86,000–$130,000 annually, plus annual performance-based bonus potential.

What you will do

  • Develop complex pricing and reserving models for current and new property and casualty insurance products.
  • Perform advanced risk assessments, statistical analyses, actuarial adjustments, and financial forecasting.
  • Prepare rate indications, reserve indications, reports, proposals, filing support, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze competitor rate structures, coverage, and product positioning.
  • Present project results and recommendations to management and senior leaders.
  • Lead actuarial projects and coordinate data gathering with IT, business support, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Successful completion of five or more actuarial examinations and continued eligibility in the Actuarial Professional Development Program.
  • At least four years of experience in an actuarial environment.
  • Experience pricing or reserving property and casualty insurance products and interpreting mathematical rate-making or reserve models.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, quantitative modeling, PC software, project coordination, and management reporting.
  • Experience in at least three advanced areas, including rate or regulatory filings, competitive analysis, actuarial research, rating-plan development, reserving methods, classification, inflation, or tail-factor analysis.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Commercial Lines.
