Staff DevOps Engineer (AI)

Location: Based at the Santa Clara, California office, with the option to work a few days per week remotely. Travel up to 25%. Access to export-controlled technology and government-contract work requires U.S. Person status or the necessary authorization.

Salary: $1–$1 USD base salary range, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the roadmap, architecture, tooling standards, and golden paths for the software-factory platform.
• Build and operate shared CI/CD pipelines for secure build, test, scanning, signing, and deployment.
• Embed security gates, vulnerability scanning, compliance evidence, and policy enforcement into delivery workflows.
• Own release trains, release gates, versioning, environment promotion, and expedited but controlled hotfix pipelines.
• Develop tested infrastructure-as-code modules and self-service internal developer-platform capabilities across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Automate dependency management, SBOM generation, artifact provenance, pipeline triage, and agentic workflows with appropriate guardrails.

Requirements

• 8+ years of production engineering experience with recent hands-on work.
• Recent hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD platforms at production scale.
• Practical experience configuring security scanning and resolving vulnerabilities within deadlines.
• Experience authoring and testing production infrastructure-as-code modules.
• Demonstrated ownership of release, dependency, or vulnerability-management outcomes with measurable results.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with a focus on eliminating manual toil.

Nice to have

• Supply-chain security experience with signing, SBOMs, provenance, or SLSA.
• Internal developer platform or self-service design experience measured by adoption.
• Release-gate or release-train ownership, including emergency-change delivery.
• Agentic delivery automation and AI or LLM security experience.
