Location: Hybrid role based in San Jose, California, with onsite work required three days per week. The company can currently hire in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
Salary: $240,000–$265,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations that deliver mission-critical Earth intelligence and remote-sensing data.
What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and grow software engineers and scientists developing numerical modelling infrastructure and data analysis capabilities.
- Build and maintain a team roadmap aligned with company priorities and guide foundational simulation projects.
- Improve understanding of complex spacecraft and space-system performance through high-performance simulations and analytics.
- Define and track quality and performance metrics for mission-critical software systems.
- Manage team capacity, hiring, staffing, coaching, and performance development.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering leaders on technical direction and organizational processes.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience and 3 years managing software engineering teams delivering production systems.
- Experience managing physical simulation and data analytics programs, including physics-based modelling of complex hardware.
- Proven experience building and maintaining reliable, scalable software tools.
- Significant experience with C++, Python, TypeScript, or Julia, plus software resource estimation and scheduling.
- Access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, eligibility without export authorization, or eligibility and reasonable likelihood of obtaining the required U.S. authorization.
Nice to have
- Statistical analytics, failure analysis, or Software-in-the-Loop simulation testing experience.
- High Performance Computing experience related to physics simulations.
- Experience with event streaming and batch data-processing pipelines.
- Knowledge of orbital dynamics and spacecraft operations.
- Familiarity with space-industry technology, terminology, and practices.
