Engineering Manager, Modeling & Rendering (AI)

Location: Germany, United Kingdom, or the United States; remote and hybrid options are available. Candidates must be in, or willing to relocate to, a GMT, CET, EST, or CST timezone. Hiring is limited to employees living in eligible US states.

Base pay: $265,000–$295,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and coach a small team of senior engineers working on implicit modeling, rendering, UI, the execution kernel, and AI integration.
• Set clear scopes, owners, priorities, next steps, and definitions of done across concurrent technical workstreams.
• Improve engineering tempo by reducing operational delays, automating toil, and introducing decision frameworks for technical debates.
• Partner with Product Management to translate the roadmap into engineering plans and make day-to-day technical decisions.
• Lead modernization of the rendering pipeline and the transition from the legacy desktop UI toward the new product.
• Support the launch of generative model creation through the notebook API while maintaining the quality of the existing product.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience managing software engineers, including coaching senior engineers, setting expectations, and providing direct feedback.
• Background in graphics, geometry, or a closely related computational field, with the ability to engage with implicit geometry, GPU rendering, and computational mathematics.
• Fluency in C++ and the ability to review code in a large, mature codebase.
• Structured project management experience across multiple concurrent technical topics.
• Experience adopting AI-assisted development within a team and managing distributed teams across US and European time zones.
• Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, a GMT, CET, EST, or CST timezone; US hiring is limited to eligible states.

Nice to have

• Rust experience, GPU shader languages such as GLSL or HLSL, or modern graphics APIs.
• Experience modernizing rendering pipelines or bringing desktop-native products to web or mobile surfaces.
• Familiarity with CAD, CAE, engineering software workflows, or generative AI product integration.
