Telemetry Data Infrastructure DevOps Software Engineer III (AI/ML)

Base pay for Washington applicants: $164,652–$230,512.80 per year; other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy secure, high-throughput data pipelines for large-scale rocket engine telemetry.
• Build event-driven streaming architectures with Kafka, Kinesis, or Apache Pulsar for real-time and near-real-time data distribution.
• Design and tune search, indexing, observability, and dashboard capabilities using Elastic Stack, Grafana, and related tools.
• Establish DevSecOps practices covering CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, secrets management, security, and monitoring.
• Develop AI/ML and LLM-based anomaly detection and engine health monitoring solutions from prototype through production.
• Lead technical reviews, root-cause analysis, optimization initiatives, and mentoring across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and testing software or data systems, including ownership of production systems.
• Experience with high-volume streaming and batch pipelines, Kafka or an equivalent platform, and Elastic Stack or similar search technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, databases and SQL, data modeling, dashboards, and cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Experience with Python or TypeScript plus another programming language, secure software delivery, Agile methods, and technical mentoring.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience with time-series databases, multi-resolution data, stream processing, and observability tooling.
• Experience productionizing machine learning models, working with LLMs and AI frameworks, and applying them to telemetry data.
• Experience with secure DevSecOps tooling, compliance frameworks, data governance, propulsion, engine testing, or other high-reliability environments.
