DevOps Engineering Manager

Location: United States; remote role

Salary: $153,800–$211,400 annually plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Lead DevOps strategy, standards, tooling, and best practices for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and automation.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing DevOps engineering team, including offshore resources.
• Design and operate secure, scalable, highly available AWS platforms using infrastructure as code, containers, Kubernetes, serverless technologies, and managed cloud services.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and release automation while improving deployment frequency, quality, lead time, and developer self-service.
• Partner with engineering, QA, product, architecture, and security teams on platform architecture, reliability, security, compliance, and developer experience.
• Lead operational excellence initiatives, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and complex cross-functional technical programs.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles supporting production systems.
• 5+ years designing, building, and operating production AWS platforms and services, including services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform and/or CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Production-grade software development or automation experience with Python, Go, and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with SRE practices, observability, incident response, on-call operations, security controls, secrets management, and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• 3–5+ years of people leadership experience, including mentoring, performance management, and career development; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Nice to have

• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator.
• Certifications in Kubernetes, Terraform, or SRE.
• Experience with platform engineering, internal developer tooling, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or capacity planning.
• Experience enabling or operating AI/ML platforms and workloads for model training, inference, and experimentation at scale.
