What you will do
- Plan transportation needs and coordinate contractor and equipment coverage for trailer movements.
- Direct linehaul dispatches and track trailers, rental equipment, new trailers, and dollies.
- Coordinate cargo shipments and enter trip details into the transportation management system.
- Complete yard inventories and checks to verify equipment locations and trailer load or unload status.
- Investigate schedule delays, accidents, and equipment failures and implement contingency plans.
- Monitor tractor safety inspections, DOT certificates, roadside violations, and trailer load condition reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related area preferred.
- Dispatch experience preferred.
- Knowledge of linehaul operations, transportation practices, and DOT regulations.
- Time management, organization, multitasking, communication, and attention to detail.
- Microsoft Office and web-based application skills.
