IT Systems Administrator (Windows/VMware)

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA; travel to different manufacturing sites of up to 25%.

What you will do

• Evaluate, stabilize, and standardize infrastructure across multiple facilities.
• Lead technical execution for Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, network, and patch automation projects.
• Maintain LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, wireless access points, storage, backups, and disaster recovery systems.
• Implement patch management policies and verify that systems receive security updates within seven days of release.
• Provide end-user support, manage M365 groups and identity, and administer SharePoint and Teams.
• Create system diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks while training and mentoring junior IT staff.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience in user support, systems administration, network management, and virtualization.
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2012–2025, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP.
• Experience administering VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V.
• Strong knowledge of switching, routing, and firewalls; SonicWall experience is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with N-able/N-central or similar patch and automation platforms, plus familiarity with ServiceNow or comparable ITSM systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication skills; certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, Network+, or Security+ are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing outdated infrastructure and documenting previously unsupported networks.
• Hands-on experience with N-able/N-central, ServiceNow, and SonicWall.
• M365/Azure experience or certifications.
