Director, Electric Utilities (Data Centers)

Location: Denver, CO, or within 1 hour of a STACK site in the central region: Dallas, Chicago, New Albany, San Francisco, Virginia, or Atlanta. Travel: 10–20%. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Compensation: $209,300–$234,600

What you will do

• Manage load-interconnection processes and serve as the primary utility contact for data center projects.
• Build and maintain utility, RTO/ISO, consultant, vendor, and other external stakeholder relationships.
• Review interconnection studies, utility contracts, planning processes, cost allocation, and transmission constraints.
• Assess potential data center sites, power delivery timelines, alternative transmission solutions, and project budgets.
• Develop internal processes, strategies, reports, presentations, and business cases for leadership approval.
• Collaborate with development, energy, policy, preconstruction, supply chain, design and engineering, sales, legal, and tax teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in the energy sector, including utilities, consulting, or renewable energy.
• Experience with load interconnection processes, utility relationships, technical studies, and transmission planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and process-development skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with minimal supervision.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass a comprehensive background screening.
