What you will do

• Provide medical-surgical nursing education in skills-lab and clinical settings according to the established curriculum.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities, including day, evening, and weekend rotations.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate attendance, skills check-off, and student performance records.
• Submit program reports, support outcome data collection, attend faculty meetings, and participate in nursing program committees.
• Use online learning activities, current technologies, and applicable safety regulations to improve instruction.

Requirements

• Valid, unencumbered California Registered Nurse license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Eligibility for approval by the California Board of Registered Nursing as an instructor.
• Master’s degree with coursework in nursing, education, or administration and academic preparation in the subject taught; BSN candidates currently enrolled in a master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant role.
• At least four years of registered nursing experience, including one year within the last five years, with direct patient-care experience.
• Expertise in medical-surgical, mental health, geriatrics, pediatrics, labor and delivery, community health, or critical care nursing.
• One year of nursing-course teaching experience or completion of a course including nursing-teaching practice is preferred.
