EHS Technician (Environmental, Health & Safety)

Location: Remote when not traveling; 75% travel required. Conditions: Herndon, Virginia. US citizenship and a current SECRET security clearance are required.

Salary: $43.27 per hour. Health and welfare: $5.09 per hour.

What you will do

• Manage environmental, health, and safety programs across 163 DCSA facilities.
• Conduct facility safety assessments, ergonomic assessments, and job hazard analyses.
• Investigate mishaps and hazards, track corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
• Prepare facility, mishap, hazard, ergonomic, industrial hygiene, training, and monthly status reports.
• Provide safety training, consultation, and technical guidance to DCSA personnel, including quarterly MS Teams sessions.
• Oversee safety compliance during facility renovations and Military Construction projects, and maintain the Quality Control Plan.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in environmental, health, and safety or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related safety field.
• Certification in risk management and health and safety management.
• US citizenship and an active SECRET security clearance.
• Current and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel 75% of the time.

Nice to have

• Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or equivalent credentials.
