What you will do
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Romanian SSM legislation.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and inspections, identify hazards, and implement preventive measures.
- Design and deliver training covering emergency response, first aid, ergonomics, and safe work practices.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses; analyze trends and implement corrective actions.
- Develop emergency response plans, coordinate safety drills, fire safety measures, evacuation plans, and crisis management procedures.
- Build and oversee a scalable Occupational Health and Safety Management System for Romania and support its global implementation.
Requirements
- Fluency in Romanian and English, written and spoken, is required.
- Work location: Romania, with hybrid attendance in Bucharest.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering Sciences or Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
- Inspector SSM or Specialist SSM certification with an 80-hour accredited SSM course and a postgraduate occupational health and safety program of at least 180 hours, or a Master’s or Doctoral degree in occupational health and safety.
- Specialization in Occupational Safety and Ergonomics and Psychosocial Risks, with at least 3 years of health and safety experience.
- Strong knowledge of Romanian SSM legislation, including Law 319/2006 and national norms.
Nice to have
- Experience in a large or globally distributed organization with remote or technology-based teams.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
