2027 Spring Co-op mRNA Center of Excellence - Analytical Development (mRNA)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts; full-time onsite laboratory work, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Relocation to the office location is required for the six-month co-op.

Salary: $55.00–$60.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support the selection and development of biophysical methods for mRNA-based products.
• Perform laboratory analytical testing, data analysis, and result interpretation for process development and industrialization.
• Qualify and transfer analytical methods when needed, and support GMP sample collection, analysis, and data verification.
• Develop work plans and protocols, document results in method development reports and electronic laboratory notebooks, and present progress internally and to analytical program partners.
• Participate in or lead analytical working groups and train colleagues on analytical technologies and methods.
• Support laboratory organization, equipment and reagent management, safety, quality compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program focused on Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship is required.
• Enrollment at an accredited college or university must continue throughout the co-op.
• Ability to relocate to Waltham and work full time onsite for the complete six-month duration is required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and respond to urgent requests.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and presentations.

Nice to have

• GMP experience and participation in analytical working groups.
• Experience with physicochemical, biophysical, and analytical techniques, including AF4-MALS, nanoFCM, nanoDSC, icIEF, UPLC/HPLC, mass spectrometry, capillary electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, colorimetric analysis, and DLS.
• Knowledge of Empower, Chromeleon, or Bio-Rad Image Lab software.
• Experience preparing publications or presentations for external audiences.
