Optical Manager, Non-Certified – Sam’s Club

Hourly wage: $28.00–$40.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Drive Vision Center sales through merchandise presentation, competitive pricing, inventory control, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of community needs.
• Lead customer and member service, resolve complaints, and ensure compliance with company, legal, safety, quality, and asset-protection standards.
• Provide optical services, including eyewear consultation, product selection, measurements, prescription verification, confidential record handling, minor frame repairs, and equipment maintenance.
• Hire, train, mentor, supervise, assign duties to, and recognize Vision Center associates.
• Coordinate community outreach, stakeholder relationships, business initiatives, performance tracking, and continuous improvement activities.
• Apply company values, the Open Door Policy, ethical standards, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Completion of at least two years of college; or one year of retail experience plus one year of supervisory experience; or two years of general work experience including one year of optical experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent at entry or within 12 months of hire to sit for the American Board of Opticianry exam.
• Meet applicable requirements for optical associates, including age, qualification, registration, certification, or state licensure requirements.
• Obtain ABO certification within 15 months.
• Obtain required state optician licensure within 18 months of hire or initial movement into Sam’s Optical, or within the applicable state-regulated timeframe.
• Maintain an NPI number, active state licensure, and Optician in Charge registration when required by state regulations.
