Staff Engineer or Architect (Agentic AI Team)

Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, with three days per week in the office, or remote within North America. The posting also references a San Diego hub.

Salary: $185,000–$215,000 per year, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own agent systems end-to-end for identity, fraud, risk, and commerce workflows.
• Build reliable, steerable, multi-step agent workflows with tool use and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Own evaluation harnesses and observability for production agent systems.
• Troubleshoot non-deterministic failures across models, tools, orchestration, and infrastructure.
• Define and communicate technical vision while making agent-executable specifications clear and auditable.
• Use AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity while maintaining responsible, secure, and compliant practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated impact on production systems.
• Experience owning features end-to-end and communicating technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, and an agent framework such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Experience with agent evaluation frameworks, multi-agent orchestration, and production-grade evaluation harnesses.
• Experience in financial services, identity, fraud, risk, or another compliance-heavy environment.
• Remote work is limited to North America; the hybrid option requires three days per week in the Vancouver office.

Nice to have

• AI observability tooling and MLOps practices, including experiment tracking, model registries, or feature stores.
• Experience with vector databases, knowledge graphs, or structured retrieval for agent memory.
