Senior Consumer and Operational Compliance Risk Specialist

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States; four days onsite at the Seneca One Buffalo location with the option to work from home one day per week

Salary: $89,600–$149,300 annual USD

What you will do

• Advise business unit managers on complex consumer and operational compliance matters.
• Analyze and interpret federal and state laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and supervisory expectations.
• Support governance, risk, and compliance processes, including regulatory change management, risk assessments, and governance documentation.
• Provide compliance expertise for business initiatives, product development, issue resolution, and internal control design.
• Oversee periodic operational risk and compliance reviews, monitoring, testing, audits, and regulatory examinations.
• Prepare management updates, escalate issues, and recommend improvements to process efficiency and sustainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least five years of relevant industry experience, including one year of compliance experience.
• Knowledge of risk management strategies and the financial industry.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and integrate compliance controls into business plans.
• Ability to work onsite in Buffalo four days per week.

Nice to have

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Four years of supervisory or work leadership experience.
• Four years of departmental experience.
• Thorough technical operational risk and compliance knowledge.
