Full Time BSN Nursing Instructor - Med Surg

Salary: USD 115,000–125,000 annually

What you will do

• Provide medical-surgical nursing education in skills-lab and clinical settings according to the established curriculum.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities, including day, evening, and weekend rotations.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain attendance, skills check-off, clinical records, and program data.
• Coordinate clinical assignments with student and facility needs and submit required reports.
• Attend faculty meetings and committees, use online learning activities, and support ongoing student communication.

Requirements

• Hold a valid, unencumbered license from the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Be eligible for California BRN approval as an instructor in medical-surgical nursing or another listed nursing specialty.
• Hold a master's degree including coursework in nursing, education, or administration and preparation in the subject taught; BSN candidates enrolled in a master's program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant role.
• Have at least four years of registered-nurse experience, including one year within the last five years, providing direct patient care.
• Demonstrate clinical competence under CCR Section 1420(c).
• Have expertise in medical-surgical nursing or another listed specialty; nursing teaching experience or relevant teaching coursework is preferred.

Nice to have

• One year of experience teaching nursing-related courses or completion of a nursing teaching course.
• Expertise in mental health, geriatrics, pediatrics, labor and delivery, community health, or critical care.
