Principal (Venture Capital)

Location: 5 days per week in the New York City, Menlo Park, or Boston office

Annual base salary: $170,000–$180,000, plus potential equity, carry, and corporate bonus.

What you will do

• Source investment opportunities across sectors and stages, building a qualified pipeline and relationships across the startup ecosystem.
• Lead initial diligence by evaluating teams, business models, markets, competition, traction, financing terms, and investment risks.
• Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations through the Investment Committee process.
• Execute approved investments and help build a balanced portfolio aligned with investment strategy and targets.
• Support portfolio companies through strategic introductions, recruiting, business development, financing, and other platform resources.
• Contribute to fundraising, investor relations, events, written content, and community engagement for the Blue Team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of overall professional experience, including experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, startups, or a related field.
• Approximately 1–3 or more years of direct venture capital experience involving sourcing, diligence, investment decisions, and portfolio support.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of venture capital deal structures, financing terms, investment processes, and industry practices.
• Strong networking, analytical, prioritization, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms.
